September 2011. Savasa Printing Group has been awarded with a Gold Starpack Awards in the category of Innovation of the year. Savasa, which specialises in the production of rotogravure labels for the brewery and beverages industry has been recognised for its Drystick label.
The Drystick® label is a new technology developed by SAVASA. SABMILLER has implemented this innovative technology to their PERONI Nastro Azurro brand.
The Drystick® technology allows the application of clear labels with conventional wet glue labeling machinery without investing in new machinery being its cost significantly lower than the existing “No label look” solutions. The technology applies to NRB (non returnable bottles) and RB (returnable bottles).
The Starpack Award is one of Great Britain’s most important prizes for packaging. Organised by the IOP (Institute of Packaging) they recognise excellence, innovation and design in the packaging industry.
The Starpack jury recognized the technical innovation and the environmental benefits of Drystick label as well. Drystick labels allows a very important waste reduction compared to the existing technology for clear labels in the market.
